The Variety Boxes are the perfect introduction to World Music and music-making for Early Years and Primary settings and also for use in the home. We’ve tried to put as many different instruments in each box as we can, making these great resources both for music and for cross-cultural studies. This is the smallest of the boxes and it contains 30 instruments, all of them made by hand using natural and recycled materials. Each collection (small, medium and large) comes in a sturdy wooden box made from sustainable wood and has goatskin hinges and handles. Each box also contains our 16 page “Grown-up’s Guide”, a brilliantly written handbook for the teacher or parent. The Guide not only gives you loads of ideas for developing musical and developmental skills, it also has a section showing how music and rhythm can be used to support the teaching of other subjects, from arithmetic to phonetics.
