'A Taste of Taiko' Workshop Day by Kagemusha Taiko

[RWS-tttt]
KS2 KS3 KS4 9+ yrs
, Stock: 30
Thank you for the stunning training days you did for my staff and our partner schools. The training has revitalised a number of staff...I know a number of them ached for a few days after, but still talk about their experience to their peers with a smile on their face. Consequently, I now have a long list of other staff wanting to be trained. I cannot remember any other training session that had such a positive reaction.-Elaine Atkinson, Manager of Instrumental and Music Teaching, Nottinghamshire Arts Support Service

Description

Up to three 60 - 75 minute workshops with taiko specialists Kagemusha Taiko. These taster sessions are designed for teachers who are interested in the prospect of starting taiko in their schools and wish to find out who is keen and enthusiastic for taking taiko further. Great for giving a general awareness of taiko and its benefits with an opportunity to observe and experience teaching methods. One session can be traded in for a school assembly presentation and demonstration, which is great for schools getting started with taiko and wanting to make a big impact with students and staff alike.

How it's Played

Taiko is a great addition to the music curriculum, and is just as popular as part of the Wider Opportunities programme - it also works well in myriad ways for all manner of special needs. Kagemusha Taiko's teacher training programme has been developed over ten years by experienced teachers and has proved highly successful with Music Services and individual schools throughout the U.K. Teaching with Kagemusha Taiko's four key principles, established and available taiko curriculum and the same drums that we sell, their experienced teaching staff will come to you to give you the taiko skills you need to start your own taiko project.

How it's Made

Your contract for training will in this case be direct with Kagemusha Taiko and you'll need to make arrangements with them (please note that they also charge travel expenses). Kagemusha Taiko tailor all workshops and presentations to suit the needs of the age group and the objectives of the specific environment. Considering the physicality of taiko and the size of the drums, they usually recommend taiko for Year 5 upwards, and only occasionally for Year 4.
