Big version of the saron - also called "demung" which forms a key part of the gamelan orchestra and which is traditionally used to reinforce the themes played by the medium-sized saron. This instrument is carved from a single piece of wood and has 7 metal keys tuned to the Javanese pentatonic scale called "slendro". The range is nearly an octave and a half and the tuning is the same as for the larger saron in our range.
