Full size 26" version of our Premium djembe and new for 2007, this is the best of the best - a truly professional djembe, finished with utmost care inside and out. For soloists, workshop leaders and djembe afficionados everywhere. The drum has been turned from a single piece of mahogany and has professional quality, pre-stretched nylon stringing and a thick, natural goatskin head for a long life and a mellow tone. The inside of the drum has been specially shaped and finished - a hand-tuned throat for the fullest, clearest tone. The slap is tight and the bass is round and extremely powerful. The drum is 26 inches high and has a playing head diameter of 12 to 13 inches; suitable for 8 years old upwards and a comfortable size for bigger children, teenagers and adults. This is a workshop leader's djembe and adds weight and depth to secondary/teenage groups and also to younger groups playing mainly smaller djembes. The beautiful 1cm deep carvings have been created by talented woodcarvers and are based on African and Indonesian imagery.
