Our aim is to help spread music-making far and wide by making it possible for anyone, whatever their age and ability, to get actively involved in music and to enjoy all the physical, mental and social benefits that go along with it. That's our main motivation and it means that:-- We keep our prices as low as we possibly can;
- We specialise in easy-to-play instruments;
- We're constantly trying to improve our instruments and invent new ones;
- We give big discounts to schools and educational users.
We try and do the above in as friendly a way as possible, namely:-- We respect Fairtrade guidelines in everything we do;
- We respect and care for our amazing Balinese suppliers and artisans and pay them premium prices;
- We use natural, sustainable and recycled materials wherever we can;
- We try and reuse packaging and minimise wastage.
Drums for Schools is a small, family business, originally set up by Andy Gwatkin in 2004. Andy now focuses on instrument design, production and quality control and his sister, Hilary, looks after orders and deliveries. Andy's other sister, Angela, looks after the accounts and financial side of things. The London showroom in Camden's busy Stables Market is run by Dani Cepillo and is open every day (weekdays afternoons only).
